THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) will take a two-week break after this weekend’s fixtures.

The second half of the season will resume on June 25.

“This serves to advise that the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League will take a two-week break after the conclusion of Match Day 17 fixtures scheduled for June 3 to June 5, 2022.

“PSL matches will resume on Saturday June 25, 2022,” said PSL communications and media liaison officer Kudzai Bere in a statement on Wednesday.

“We advise clubs to liaise with stadium owners to ensure that all the necessary stadium maintenance work is done during this period.”

The Harare Derby between CAPS United and Dynamos is the pick of the crop when the first half concludes this weekend.

There is also the Manicaland derby between Manica Diamonds and Tenax at Sakubva Stadium on Sunday.

Match Day 17 begins Friday with Yadah hosting in-form Bulawayo Chiefs at the National Sports Stadium.

Yadah held Chicken Inn 1-1 at Luveve last Saturday, while Chiefs extended their unbeaten run to seven matches after humbling CAPS United 2-0 at the same venue the following day.

It remains uncertain who will be in charge of Highlanders when they host Harare City at Barbourfields on Sunday.

Stand-in gaffer Joel Luphahla has been barred from leading Bosso since he does not have the requisite CAF A Licence.

Highlanders have since intensified their search for a substantive coach to replace Mandla Mpofu, who was given the sack last month.

Mark Harrison is heavily linked with a return to Bosso.

The Briton took charge of the Bulawayo giants just before Covid-19 hit.
