CITY of Mutare’s efforts towards improving waste collection and management received a major boost after procuring another garbage compactor truck.
In a statement, the local authority said the development will enhance service delivery in the city.
“City of Mutare has made a step further towards scaling up refuse collection efficiency following the arrival of one of the refuse trucks. Three more brand new refuse trucks are expected to arrive before the end of this month or early October. Refuse collection schedule is going to be scaled up to a better level,” reads the statement.
Mutare City Council thanked residents and stakeholders for participating in the procurement process of the refuse compactor.
The local authority said it is moving towards attaining smart city standards for Mutare.
