GOSPEL musician Darlington ‘Mambo Dhuterere’ Mutseta’s wife, Dorcas Vambe, has appeared in court for allegedly conning aspiring Member of Parliament for Glen Norah Chrispen Magaya of US$16 000 over vehicle import duty.

Vambe is said to have told Magaya that she could facilitate the importation of two Toyota DG6 vehicles through an import duty waiver she allegedly received from the President in appreciation for singing some jingles.

Vambe appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court charged with fraud and was not asked to plead.

According to the State, she signed an affidavit acknowledging receipt of the money from Magaya and her promise to deliver the two cars within two weeks.

She allegedly received the money in September this year.

She was granted $100 bail.
