A 35-year-old man from Esigodini has been arrested on murder charges, after he allegedly struck his wife with an axe over allegations of infidelity.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said:
“ZRP Esigodini arrested Clement Nkomo (35) for fatally assaulting his wife Sithabisiwe Siwela (40) with an axe at Mangweni Village, Chief Sigola, Esigodini after allegations of infidelity.
“Police recovered the weapon used by the suspect and the body of the victim was taken to Esigodini Hospital for a post mortem.”
In a related case in Masvingo, two men have been accused of killing their brother-in-law.
“Police in Masvingo arrested Pasca Rufu (50) and Kistor Mupondori (28) for fatally assaulting their brother-in-law Chesterfield Kudzai Mavesere on 28 February after a misunderstanding,” said ZRP.
“The victim had followed his former wife who was now staying with the suspects at Rumwanda, Chief Nhema, Zaka.”
