NEW: Man arrested for smuggling vehicle, goods

POLICE have arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with a smuggling case that occurred in Victoria Falls on Saturday.

In a statement, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said: “The suspect was intercepted by the police along Victoria Falls road, near Victoria Falls garage while driving an unregistered DAF (rigid truck) laden with an unregistered Toyota Double Cab vehicle, 20 bicycles, vehicle tyres and several boxes of second-hand clothes.”

The suspect allegedly produced fake declaration documents to the police, leading to his arrest.

The vehicle was taken to the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) for verification.
