More than 100 participants are expected to grace the inaugural Moonlight Cancer Trust Charity Golf Tournament to be held in Botswana later this year.

The first edition of the tournament will be held at Phakalane Golf Club in Gaborone, Botswana, on November 29.

It will be an 18-hole contest.

Moonlight Group chief executive officer Dr Chomi Makina revealed that the golf tournament seeks to raise funds to help people suffering from cancer.

“We have organised this golf tournament on the backdrop of the launch of the Moonlight Cancer Trust.

“The reason and the background to this development is we have realised that in all the years we have been dealing with the public in terms of death.

“With the number of deaths which are being caused by cancer-related illnesses, we thought we may contribute in ending the scourge in whatever way we can.

“We have given donations to the Cancer Trust of Zimbabwe and now we have got the golf tournament which is lined up for Phakalane Golf Estate in Botswana, Gaborone,” said Dr Makina.
