NEW: More than 6 000 common diarrhoea cases and two deaths recorded in a week

A total of 6 201 common diarrhoea cases and two deaths were reported for the week ending November 24, with 46 percent of cases in children under the age of five.

This brings the cumulative cases to 328 038 and 164 deaths.

According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care Disease Surveillance Report, the two deaths were recorded at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital and in Shurugwi district.

The data shows that the highest number of cases were recorded in Mashonaland East and Manicaland.

“The provinces that reported the highest number of cases were Mashonaland East (1 228) and Manicaland (894),” said the ministry.
