A new movie titled “Vimbiso”, set to première in cinemas courtesy of Malante Productions, will tackle the issue of infertility and try to assist people with the condition fight social stereotypes.
The film was shot in both urban and rural settings and will juxtapose the lives of the rich and poor, telling a story of how infertility affects relationships.
Written by Robert Mwamvani, a journalism graduate from Christian College of Southern Africa, the movie is set to address challenges that people face in their daily lives.
Mwamvani was motivated to come up with his story idea by his life experiences and in this masterpiece, wants to highlight how life can be unfair.
It was produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker Malon Murape, founder of Malante Communications, and it becomes the film house’s third production following two other movies titled “Tariro” and “Single Mothers”.
However, for this upcoming movie, Murape said they are finding the going tougher and are struggling to pay the cast.
“Currently, we are working on a new movie titled ‘Vimbiso’ and if things go according to script, it will be released and premièred in Cinemas in November.
“It looks like sponsors are shunning the film sector because of the poor quality produced and prefer to look at other activities like soccer or cricket,” said Murape.
Murape engaged the services of renowned music producer Munyaradzi Mucherechedzo at Kabon Studios, a product of Oliver Mtukudzi’s Pakare Paye Arts Centre to do the sound tracks. After graduating with a certificate in video filming at Christian College of Southern Africa, Murape took to film in 2014.
