Parliamentarians will converge in Victoria Falls for a four-day pre-budget seminar for the 2022 National Budget, which will be addressed by Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda.

The seminar will run between October 22 and October 26.

Advocate Mudenda has confirmed that the pre-budget seminar will be held this weekend.

He told National Assembly members on Tuesday that all MPs from provinces far from Victoria Falls, such as Harare, Mashonaland East, West, Central and Manicaland will fly to Victoria Falls on Friday morning.

However, MPs from Masvingo, Midlands, Bulawayo, Matabeleland North and Matabeleland South, will use their parliamentary-issued vehicles to travel for the seminar.

According to the programme released by Parliament, Advocate Mudenda will deliver the keynote address on Saturday, following which the Minister of Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube is expected to make a presentation.

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) governor Dr John Mangudya is expected to present a report on ‘Monetary policy complementing fiscal policy towards Vision 2030 and its implications on the 2022 National Budget’.

The seminar will be held under the theme: ‘Reinforcing Sustainable Recovery and Resilience’.
