MUSICIAN Stunner, born Desmond Chideme, on Wednesday appeared at Mbare Magistrates Court on charges of assaulting his daughter’s nine-year-old friend and her mother.

Stunner denied the charges when he appeared before magistrate Batiraishe Zishiri charged with two counts of assault.

He allegedly assaulted Layla Chapeta and her mother Ms Cathrine Matiza.

The incident allegedly occurred on August 24 when Stunner saw her daughter falling while playing with Layla.

He appeared not pleased by the way his daughter fell and confronted Layla.

Stunner then allegedly assaulted the girl.

Upon seeing Stunner assaulting her daughter, Ms Matiza intervened, but was received with slaps.

Ms Matiza and her daughter then reported the matter to the police leading to the 44-year-old’s arrest.

He is expected back in court on September 12 for trial.
