THE National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (NAAZ) will host its national championships at White City Stadium, Bulawayo, on June 8.

The event will feature athletes from the country’s 10 provinces.

NAAZ director of coaching, talent identification and development, Lisimati Phakamile, said preparations for the event were almost complete.

“As the coaches, we are quite excited about the upcoming event as it is a very important day on the coaches’ calendar,” he said.

“It is our main national championships where provinces come together to set and compete for different upcoming international slots and even break their past records.”

The championships are also being used as a selection event for the Africa Senior Championships to take place in Douala, Cameroon from June 21 to 26.
