NEW: NSSA to root out corrupt clique

THE National Social Security Authority (NSSA) says it is aware of a clique working inside the organisation to derail its transformational agenda.

In a joint statement with the Zimbabwe National Pensioners Forum Trust (ZNPFT), NSSA said the clique is bent on taking the organisation back to the “dark days of non-accountability and poor service delivery”.

This follows the recent circulation of a WhatsApp message accusing NSSA and ZNPFT of numerous acts of corruption.

“The threads are from sources who are threatened by NSSA’s success and are determined to tarnish the image of NSSA and ZNPFT.

“This is a deliberate ploy to derail the good work that the two have jointly accomplished in improving the welfare of pensioners,” reads part of the joint statement.

The originators of the messages, who are suspected to be working within the organisation, are allegedly trying to sow seeds of confusion and disdain.

Adds the statement: “NSSA will vigorously pursue all means to nip this cancerous scourge in the bud. The public is advised to dismiss the malicious content in circulation and wait for due process to take its course.”
