New Orleans beat Masvingo in Mucheke

Last week the Bulawayo girls won 4-1 against prisons side Flame Lily in a match played at Raylton Stadium.

New Orleans coach Sithethelelwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda said the match was a lukewarm one as the players have not fully recovered from a hectic LM Auctioneers tournament which ended last week.

“The match was a lukewarm one as most of the players are still fatigued because of a hectic tournament in Gweru last week,” she said.

Sibanda said she was nevertheless happy at the end of the day because the girls brought home the points.

“Well at the end of the day we collected maximum points and that’s what matters most,” she added.

In an interview before the match on Friday New Orleans director Khanyiso Bhebhe said they were not prepared to lose a single match this season.

“Our goal is not to lose even one game this season. What happens at the end of the season is another issue but as for now we are not prepared to lose any match,” Bhebhe said.

Bhebhe also said the club is grateful for the continued support they are receiving from their sponsors, Lobels and Marange Diamonds.

“Marange Diamonds and Lobels have supported us all the way and we are grateful for their support,” he said.

Inline Academy locked horns with Cyclone Stars at Barham Green and the Bulawayo girls won 2-1.

The Shadreck Mulauzi outfit triumphed 5-1 against Faith Drive in Mutare last week and this weekend’s match is the breaking point for their unbeaten run so far in the league.

In Harare wounded Flame Lily failed to recover their pride when they were beaten 1-0 by Mufakose at Chikurubi Prison.

Flame Lily’s coach Backlyfield Chivenga said that though his team lost, the match was a well balanced one.

“We are working on raising our standard and we are surely going to up our game,” said Chivenga.
Elsewhere, LM Auctioneers tournament winners Black Rhinos thrashed Faith Drive 9-0 in a match played in Commando 2 Brigade on Saturday.

Conduit Soccer Academy won 4-1 against Chipembere Queens in Madhodha Stadium.
