OVER 600 delegates from across the world are expected for the SADC Industrialisation Week which begins in Harare on July 28.
Some 200 businesses are expected to showcase their products at this year’s event.
The SADC Industrialisation Week, which runs from July 28 to August 2, is a forerunner to the SADC Summit set for August 17 in Harare.
Industry and Commerce Minister Mangaliso Ngobizitha Ndlovu, said on Saturday that Zimbabwe was ready to host both events.
“I am happy to highlight that our preparations are quite advanced,” he said. “We have what we believe to be an unprecedented number of exhibitors.
“So far, we have more than 600 people who have confirmed participation, mainly from the region, but also, we have some keynote speakers from the region and also from beyond the continent.”
The industrialisation week aims to promote industrialisation and enhance the competitiveness of manufactured goods within the region.
“This is the seventh edition. It will be the first time that we have a day we dedicate to the investment conference,” said Minister Ndlovu.
“We came up with this idea because we believe that to drive industrialisation, we need to attract quality and affordable capital.”
