AT LEAST 28 workers and retirees from the Parliament of Zimbabwe received long-serving awards, after working for the legislative body for periods spanning 10 to 41 years.

The ceremony was held in Harare on Tuesday.

Ms Helen Dingani walked away with the longest-serving employee award after working at Parliament for the past 41 years.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, said:

“I would like to thank you for your contribution and commitment to the Parliament throughout the years.

“For those who have been here for the past 20 years, it has indeed been a long association, and you have witnessed the growth of the organisation, as well as the many challenges that have taken place over the years.”

Parliament also recognised the preparatory committee of the African Parliamentary Union (APU) 78th executive committee meeting and 44th conference, which was hosted in Victoria Falls earlier this year.
