CABINET has approved ratification of the Africa Risk Capacity Treaty, which will enable Zimbabwe to fully participate in disaster risk management, in collaboration with other African countries.
Addressing Tuesday’s post-Cabinet briefing, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said:
“Cabinet considered and approved the ratification of the African Risk Capacity Treaty as presented by the Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Honourable Ziyambi Ziyambi, as chairperson of the Cabinet Committee on Legislation.
“The African Risk Capacity Treaty was established to help member countries to improve in their response to extreme weather events and natural disasters, thereby reducing the risk of loss and damage caused by such disasters.”
