A grouping of church ministers from across the country’s 10 provinces under the banner of Pastors4ED has committed themselves to rally behind President Mnangagwa’s vision of transforming Zimbabwe into an upper middle-income economy by 2030.
Pastors4ED founder Evangelist Idirashe Dongo said it was high time the church came out of the closet and supported the country’s leadership for national development.
“Our mission is to willingly, openly, publicly and voluntarily support President Mnangagwa for creating an enabling environment full of opportunities for national development,” she said.
She said everyone has a biblical mandate to support and pray for the President, who is working hard to change the country’s fortunes.
The organisation, she added, stands in solidarity with Zimbabwe and the SADC region’s stance calling for the removal of sanctions.
“As Pastors4ED, we call for the removal of sanctions. Those sanctions destabilise our country and have caused chaos.”
She also said they will not allow church institutions in Zimbabwe to be conduits of Western imperialism, indoctrination and white supremacist ideology.
