SUCH is his potential that his coaches call him Pogba, after the popular French midfielder Paul Pogba, who dazzled for Juventus, Manchester United and Les Blues (France national team) before fading into oblivion.
Tawananyasha Museba is just 12 but his talent has already charmed one of the most respected talent scouts in Zimbabwe.
Former Zimbabwe national team coach and Darryn T founder Wieslaw Grabowski is speaking highly of Museba and a group of players that he is training at Alex Sports Club in Harare.
Grabowski is still in the game and scouting for talent.
He is currently working with a group of young players from Continental Bright Stars Academy of Norton.
The academy is owned by Cephas Bhobho, a renowned junior football coach in Norton.
It is home to some bright prospects like Silver Dube, Cleopas Masumbuko, Donald Dhombo, Shawn Dodo, Takudzwa Nyamudyafodya, Mufaro Matewo and Museba, who are in the Under-12 and Under-15 sides.
“We don’t do much talking off the field but what I can tell you for now is that we have an exciting group of players that I am working with,” Grabowski told The Sunday Mail Online.
Grabowski is celebrated because of his mastery of technique drills and is credited for moulding retired national stars like Norman Mapeza, Shingi Kawondera, Stewart Murisa, Edelbert Dinha, Lloyd Chitembwe and Alois Bunjira.
Some of the current Premier Soccer League players also seek Grabowski’s services during the off season.
“Football is not all about running, it’s more about your ability with the ball. And I am impressed with some of these youngsters from this Norton academy that I am working with,” said Grabowski.
“There is a lot of good talent in Zimbabwe, but my worry is that some of these kids are not being taught the right things at a tender age.
“A player has to develop a close relationship with the ball from a very young age. He has to be taught shooting, passing and heading techniques from an early age.
“But I am happy the boys from this academy have a lot of promise.”
Continental Bright Stars Academy director and coach Bhobho is confident Grabowski will fine-tune his players and also link them with opportunities in Europe.
“We all know Grabowski is good with technique drills and he also has links with the European market. We believe Europe is the final destination for our products,” said Bhobho.
