NEW: Police hunt for hit-and-run driver

A 35-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run road traffic accident that occurred along the Harare–Bulawayo Road on Sunday.

The victim was pronounced dead upon admission at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital.

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said: “The ZRP is investigating a hit-and-run road traffic accident in which a 35-year-old man was fatally hit by a motorist who was driving a blue Honda Fit vehicle along Harare–Bulawayo Road near Whitehouse, Harare, on April 10 at 3am.

“The victim sustained serious head injuries and was referred to Sally Mugabe (Central) Hospital where he was pronounced dead on admission.”
