NEW: Police hunt for killer driver

POLICE in Gwanda have launched a manhunt for a driver who was involved in a fatal road traffic accident, which occurred along the Bulawayo-Beitbridge highway on Wednesday. 

In a statement, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the victim died on the spot. 

“Police in Gwanda are investigating a fatal road traffic accident that occurred at the 174km-peg along Bulawayo-Beitbridge Road on August 24, where an unknown man was hit by a Toyota Wish vehicle while crossing the road,” said ZRP. 

“The victim, who was wearing a red t-shirt and blue jean trousers, died on the spot. 

“The body was conveyed to Gwanda Provincial Hospital for post-mortem.”
