NEW: Police recover illicit Kombucha drinks at Harare house

Online Reporter

THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has recovered a stash of illicit Kombucha drinks at a house in Waterfalls, Harare.

Police uncovered the large quantities of the beverage being stored and possibly distributed illegally.

They released pictures showing that the house was also being used as a makeshift brewery.

Authorities have expressed concern over the rise of unlicensed beverage production in the country, warning that such products may pose health risks to consumers.

Kombucha, a fermented tea drink, has gained popularity in Zimbabwe due to its perceived health benefits, but unregulated production raises concerns over safety and quality standards.
