Online Reporter

SOME parts of Harare were affected by a major power outage on Tuesday following technical faults that affected two major power feeder systems.

A fault at the Hatfield Gates feeder caused a blackout in areas including Sunningdale, Hatfield, Logan Park, Mainway Meadows and Prospect.

Another fault at the Aces of Space feeder affected Belvedere, Milton Park, Ridgeview, Westlea, Madokero, Ashdown Park, Warren Park and Bloomingdale.

In a statement the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) said: “The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to apologise to its valued customers in Harare region for the power outage due to faults on the feeders supplying them.

“ZETDC engineers and technicians are working to rectify the faults.”

Meanwhile, suburbs including Highlands Park, Helensvale, The Glen and Glen Helen will be affected by another power outage between 6 am and 6 pm on Wednesday to allow for routine maintenance works.

The outage will also affect Carrick Creagh, Chishawasha Hills, Umwingsdale, Crowhill and surrounding areas.
