NEW: President to officiate at NCC Summit

President Mnangagwa is today expected to officiate at the National Competitive Commission (NCC) summit in Bulawayo.

The summit is a platform to reflect on how to develop sustainable solutions that will improve productivity and competitiveness.

Participants drawn from Government Ministries, departments, agencies, captains of industry, local authorities and higher learning institutions, among others, will gather at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Exhibition Centre for the event.

Before launching the summit, President Mnangagwa will tour and commission the new Edgars Stores’ Carousel Clothing Manufacturing plant in the city’s industrial area.

The new plant is expected to significantly increase the company’s manufacturing output, thereby enhancing it’s competitiveness.

Today’s event will serve as a powerful tool for building national consensuses on enhancing the country’s competitiveness through fostering collaboration, innovation and adaptability among stakeholders.

The manufacturing sector is one of the pillars that constitute the backbone of the country’s economy.

Other key sectors include agriculture, mining, and tourism, among others.
