NEW: President to tour Deka water system

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa will on Friday tour the Deka water system upgrade project in Hwange as part of his hands-on approach to monitor progress on national infrastructure development. 

In a statement, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services said the pipeline will draw water from Zambezi River for both commercial and domestic use in surrounding areas. 

“His Excellency President Mnangagwa will tour the Deka water system upgrade project in Hwange,” reads the statement. 

“The pipeline will draw water from the Zambezi River into Hwange Power Station for electricity generation, it will also supply drinking water for the surrounding community.” 

Speaking ahead of the tour Chief Hwange praised Government for the project saying it will go a long way in eradicating water challenges in his community.
