Police have launched a manhunt for three suspects after arresting their accomplice who allegedly dressed as an officer of the law and demanded a bribe in Harare’s Central Business District (CBD) on Saturday.

Obvious Mutani (33) was clad in police uniform when he allegedly committed the offence.

It is alleged that the quartet demanded a US$200 bribe from a complainant for an unspecified offence.

“The suspect, who was clad in police uniform together with three others still at large, allegedly arrested a complaint for an unspecified offence and demanded a bribe of US$200.

“On noticing police officers, the suspect’s accomplices, who were in civilian attire, fled and vanished into the crowd,” reads a statement from police.
