NEW: Red flag over sexual abuse of learners

SCHOOLS and parents have been urged to have more systems in place to curtail sexual abuse of female students by transport operators’ workers.

In her address to journalists from different media houses during a media tour organised by Family Aids Caring Trust (FACT) Zimbabwe, Dangamvura High School Psycho-Social Support teacher Mrs Oppah Zisengwe said public transport operator’s workers are fueling abuse of young girls in schools.

Mrs Zisengwe said as a school they have tried to put in place mechanisms to impart messages that enlighten their learners on dangers of dating or spending time alone with public transport conductors or drivers.
