The Rotary Club of Highlands on Wednesday celebrated its 55th anniversary by pledging to continue with their humanitarian projects.
Speaking at an event to celebrate the anniversary in Harare, Rotary Club of Highlands president Mrs Carolyn Chipumha expressed her desire to empower marginalised communities.
“Our diversity enables us to connect different perspectives and approach problems from many angles,” she said.
The club has since started a programme to assist children affected by polio.
“As Rotarians, we are leaders who act responsibly and take action to tackle some of the community’s most pressing challenges,” she added.
Rotary district governor, Mrs Stella Dongo, said the club engages professionals with diverse backgrounds to exchange ideas and form meaningful and lifelong friendships with communities.
“The Rotary Club has continued its commitment to service by providing clean water, improving maternal health, awarding scholarships, fighting diseases and improving lives around the world,” said Mrs Dongo.
