THE Ruwa Local Board, in collaboration with residents and other stakeholders, is working on an ambitious project to plant at least five million trees over the next five years to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The local board revealed this on its Twitter handle on Wednesday following a tree-planting initiative in Zimre Park.

“We are passionate about making Ruwa green with a target of five million trees in five years,” said Ruwa Local Board.

It said team effort from both stakeholders such as the church, residents and corporate organisations will help drive the initiative.

“The drive is a team effort with residents and stakeholders.”
