NEW: ZETDC records high number of faults

Online Reporter

Increased rains have resulted in many faults countrywide that the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) is struggling to resolve timeously.

In a statement on its website, ZETDC said many parts of Harare, Mashonaland West, Mashonaland East and Mashonaland Central provinces have gone for days without power due to faults mostly caused by the wet weather.

“The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) wishes to apologise to its valued customers nationwide for delayed resolution of faults in some areas.
“We are experiencing a high number of faults due to inclement weather.

“Our teams are working round the clock to ensure full restoration of service in the affected areas,” it said in a statement on Thursday.
