ZIMBABWE continue to reap rewards of their morale-boosting win over Netherlands last weekend after climbing the World Rugby rankings.
Prior to the match, Zimbabwe were ranked 34th in the world and have since climbed seven rungs to 27th on 54.44 points.
The latest World Rugby rankings were released on Monday.
Zimbabwe emerged as the biggest climbers, while Belgium jumped one spot up to 26.
Zimbabwe wrapped up preparations for the Rugby Africa Cup, which begins this weekend, with a 30-7 win over the Dutch at Rugby Stadium Amsterdam on Saturday.
The Sables, who arrived in France on Wednesday, will be in action again on Friday when they begin their Rugby Africa Cup Tournament with a clash against Ivory Coast in Aix-en-Provence.
That match kicks off at 9pm Zimbabwe time.
The Rugby Africa Cup 2022, the last qualifying round for Rugby World Cup 2023, brings together the eight best African teams, who will slug it out for the sole ticket to next year’s rugby jamboree in France.
The eight participating teams include Namibia, Senegal, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Kenya and Zimbabwe
The winner of the upcoming tournament will then join New Zealand, Italy, hosts France and the Americas’ 1 qualifier in Pool A of the World Cup.
