TWO security guards from Mazowe have been sentenced to three years in prison after they were found guilty of stealing three cases of beer.

Tawanda Langton (20) and Osward Gurunde (25) appeared before Concession magistrate Mr Joshua Nembaware facing unlawful entry and theft charges.

The duo was sentenced to three years in prison but 18 months were suspended on condition of good behaviour.

It is the State’s case that on May 3, the duo broke into a bar that they were guarding and stole three cases of Black Label beer.

The owner found the loot hidden in a room where the security guards kept their belongings.

Upon questioning by the police, the security guards admitted to committing the offence.
