GOSPEL musician Ray Bopoto will next month launch his seventh album titled “Ngairire”.

The South African-based singer is currently basking in glory following the success of his previous offering “Gore Rino”, which produced the hit song “Tsotso”.

The track has been doing well on national radio and is frequently being requested at several gatherings, weddings and birthdays included.

“Tsotso” secured the number two spot on Radio Zimbabwe’s end of year Top 50 competition after narrowly losing to DT Bio Mudimba’s “Kujata Jata”.

Tracks on the forthcoming album include “Kutatarika”, “Ndiani?”, “Huyai” and the title track “Ngairire”.

Speaking in an interview from his base, in Mzansi, Bopoto said he intended to maintain the fine run.

“There are four songs on the album and it speaks more about love. I believe this is a good project and it is going to take off from where the last offering led us to. My aim to surpass every high standard that I set for myself,” he said.

“In ‘Ngairire’, we are following the commandment that encourages us to love one another regardless of beliefs, colour, tribe or life background. There should be love in our homes, communities, provinces and nations hence we are saying ‘ngoma yerudo ngairire kumupenyu wese’.”

The album was recorded at Magi Records in South Africa.

“Ngairire” will officially be available on YouTube from August 1, 2022.

“We are first going to release the songs then later on do an official album launch on August 19. Information pertaining to the launch venue and tickets will be available on our social media platforms soon,” said Bopoto.

The album launch theme, he added, will be “Ngairire kumupenyu wese, Ngairire kwamuri ikoko”.

The “Tsotso” hitmaker is known for delivering exciting tracks, which has won him the hearts of many over the years.

However, it remains to be seen if the forthcoming effort will be able to surpass the standards set by “Gore Rino”.

“I always take my time when I go into the studio. It is my hope and prayer that I always strike the right chords with each outing. I am happy with what the Lord has done with my music career thus far. His word gives us wisdom, knowledge and understanding all the time.”

The singer’s music appeals to almost all the age groups.

His other albums include “Never Despair” (2011), “Masvingo eJericho” (2012), “Batai Dzimba” (2018) and “Wandinonamata” (2019).
