A DZIVARASEKWA man took his co-tenant to court on allegations that he scalded him with hot porridge following a misunderstanding over a missing torch.

Tadiwanashe Rangwani (19) appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court on Thursday for allegedly assaulting Tendai Chitepo.

“On April 5, 2024 at around 8:23pm, I was at home with my wife,” said Chitepo. “My wife was cooking sadza and the accused entered my house without even knocking. He started accusing me of stealing his torch before pouring hot porridge on my body.”

Rangwani denied the allegations and said the porridge accidentally landed on Chitepo.

He is expected back in court for judgment.

Miss Faith Mukanhairi appeared for the State.
