As the Zimbabwe Republic Police works towards restoring order on the country’s roads, 2 611 touts and 8 355 motorists have been arrested countrywide under an operation targeting pirate vehicles and touts since May.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the development.
“On Wednesday, 239 touts were arrested throughout the country under Operation no to mushikashika and touts,” he said. This brings the cumulative arrests to 2 611.
“Meanwhile, 796 arrests were made on mushikashika, bringing the cumulative arrests to 8 355.”
