THOUSANDS of people from across Harare Metropolitan province have gathered at St Aidan Primary School in Chitungwiza today to celebrate the country’s 46th Independence.
Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Harare Metropolitan Senator Charles Tawengwa is presiding over the event.

While Chitungwiza is hosting the provincial commemorations, the main celebrations are being held in Maphisa, Matabeleland South province, where President Mnangagwa is the guest of honour.
The atmosphere is already electric and the venue has become a sea of national colours.

As early as 8am, long, winding queues had already formed around the school perimeter.
