TRADITIONAL and faith healers under the auspices of the Zimbabwe National Practitioners Association (ZINPA) will on Saturday converge in Mutare for the belated World Cancer Day commemorations.

World Cancer Day is an international day marked on February 4 to raise cancer awareness and encourage its prevention, detection and treatment.

ZINPA president bishop Cuthbert Nyaruvenda outlined the programme of the day.

“Basically, this is a workshop which we should have conducted on February 4,” he said.

“During the workshop, traditional and faith healers will be taught by medical practitioners how to treat and take good care of cancer patients.

“We will also exchange ideas on the treatment and management of cancer.”

Zimbabwe Top Cancer, an organisation which focuses on cancer awareness, is facilitating the workshop.

More than 100 participants drawn from Mutare, Rusape, Nyanga and Chipinge will attend.
