The Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) is promoting safe driving practices among commercial drivers and urging them to undergo defensive driving training.

In an interview with The Sunday Mail Online, TSCZ spokesperson, Mr Ernest Muchena, said: “The drivers should take the defensive driving course which will provide them with essential skills to navigate challenging road conditions, make informed decisions, develop proactive driving habits and manage emergencies effectively.”

He said commercial drivers should practice safe driving to preserve life and their organisations’ reputation, adding that they should also comply with road regulations, including obtaining the necessary certifications, licenses and permits.

“Commercial drivers’ safe driving practices contribute to a positive image for transportation and logistics companies. Preventing accidents and associated damages goes a long way in helping companies maintain their reputation for reliability and professionalism,” said Mr Muchena.
