NEW: UK-based singer’s track rides social media waves

Online Reporter

UNITED KINGDOM-BASED Zimbabwean rhythm-and-blues (R&B) musician Lamont Chitepo’s new single – “Musiye Abaye” – has inspired over 15 000 challenges from different creatives on social media.

The song was released three weeks ago.

“Musiye Abaye”, which features popular Zimdancehall artiste Freeman, has also garnered thousands of views on YouTube

The song became even more popular after social media influencers DJ Towers and Mabrijo posted a video singing and dancing along to the song.

Although the track has a catchy tune, it carries a serious message about toxicity in relationships.

“When a relationship ends, it is so easy to be sad and downcast as one reflects on all the things that went wrong.

“The point is not to say you should move on quickly, but rather enjoy life and eventually let go,” Chitepo told The Sunday Mail Online.
