NEW: Victoria Falls burglary suspect nabbed

Criminal Investigations Department (CID) detectives in Victoria Falls have arrested a 39-year-old suspect for a series of suspected housebreaking cases.

Member Mudenda of Mkhosana Township, Victoria Falls, is facing eight counts of unlawful entry and theft.

“During the period extending from July 18 to July 28, 2022 … the accused person would target electrical gadgets, mainly televisions and cellphones, as well as cash and food.

“On July 20, 2022, the accused person broke into the complainant’s house, ransacked the whole house before getting away with a television set and laptop, amongst other valuables.

“On July 28, 2022, the detectives from CID Victoria Falls picked the accused person after they got wind that he was behind the commission of these crimes,” said police in a statement.

Searches conducted at Mudenda’s residence led to recovery of cellphones and three television sets, amongst other items.
