Persistent rains that have been experienced around the country in the past few days will subside from Wednesday, paving way for a dry spell that will last for three to four days, the Meteorological Service Department (MSD) has said.
MSD’s head of forecasting Mr James Ngoma told The Sunday Mail that most parts of Zimbabwe will experience a mini mid-season dry spell from today.
This is largely viewed as an opportunity for farmers to apply fertilisers or chemicals and inspect their fields.
“Currently we are saying there is going to be less precipitation countrywide from today. This is part of what the farmers call the mid-season dry spell. “Therefore, this is the time for farmers to put fertilisers and chemicals, while also examining the state of their crops.
“We are experiencing a mid-season dry spell which will last for about three to four days,” he said.
