A HARARE woman has dragged her husband to the Harare Civil Court accusing him of using her clothes as toilet paper.

Rudo Yakalumuri appeared before magistrate Meenal Narotam seeking a protection order against her husband, Enerst Musawa.

Yakalumuri claimed Musawa was subjecting her to emotional abuse, financial control and threats to take her life.

“He uses my clothes as his tissues and he threatened to kill me if I continue to stay with him,” she said. “The other time he locked me and the children out and we spent the whole night in the cold. He is not providing for the family.”

In his defence, Musawa denied the allegations saying his wife could make up stories.

“The night that my wife and my kids slept outside the house I was in Bulawayo,” he said. “My wife knows how to open the door in such situations.”

The magistrate ordered Musawa to stop abusing his family.
