VARIOUS projects being undertaken by the Government through the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, have transformed the lives of many youths across the country.
Addressing Tuesday’s post-Cabinet briefing, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, said: “Two youth fishing projects in Binga district in Matabeleland North have been assisted to obtain fishing permits, as part of the wider programme to empower citizens to optimally utilise local resources.”
Government has also established the Binga Vocational Training Centre in Matabeleland North province to equip youths with entrepreneurial skills.
Under the community skills outreach programme, youths in Mashonaland West province have been trained in solar installation, motor mechanics, building and painting, carpentry and welding.
She added:
“At Kukwanisa Vocational Training Centre in Mutasa district, 150 youths have completed training in nursery management.
“At Mushagashe Vocational Training Centre, 150 youths have completed training in plumbing, welding, baking and uniform production.”
In Bulawayo Metropolitan province, 150 youths have completed training in catering and cosmetology.
