NEW: All set for Musabvunda Half Marathon

DEFENDING Two Oceans Marathon champion Moses Tarakinyu headlines a cast of respected long-distance runners that are expected to take part in the Musabvunda Half Marathon in Harare this weekend.

Over 1000 runners from across the country will converge for the 21-kilometre race, which will start and finish at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Sports Club on Sunday.

Perennial campaigner Prosper Mutwira, Jonathan Chinyoka, Tendai Zimuto and Blessing Waison are among the other high-profile names that have been confirmed for the event.

Waison participated at the World Cross Country Championships in Australia in February and is a former winner of the Exide Marathon.

He also finished second in last year’s Victoria Falls Marathon.

Gladys Nyamusosa and Ossly Murambidzi are some of the top attractions in the ladies’ event.

The Musabvunda Half Marathon is in its second year.

It has already started attracting athletes that have participated in the Two Oceans Marathon as well as the Comrades Marathon.
