THE Zimbabwe Christian Church (ZCC) today commemorated the death of their founding father, Right Reverend Samuel Mutendi who passed away on July 20, 1976.

Commemorating the occasion on its twitter handle, the church said Right Reverend Mutendi made a significant contribution in spreading the word of God across Africa.

“Today marks 46 years since the death of Right Reverend Samuel Mutendi, who died on this day in 1976.

“Each year on July 20 or ‘Zuva raSamere’ commemorations, church members observe the death of the founding father who is interred at Defe Dopota in Zimbabwe, looking back at the lasting contribution he made in spreading the Gospel of Christ in Africa,” wrote the church on Twitter.

ZCC regards July 20 as Zuva raSamueri where church members commemorate the death of the founding father.
