Zimbabwe has received humanitarian aid from the Republic of Belarus to offer relief to citizens during the ongoing El Nino-induced drought.

Speaking after receiving the donation at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare on Friday, Belarus Ministry of Emergency Situations Deputy Minister Ihar Bolatau said they were always ready to help Zimbabweans in times of need.

“We are always ready to assist our brothers from the Republic of Zimbabwe. I am sure the future will be bright for Zimbabwean citizens as development beckons,” he said.

Local Government and Public Works Minister Daniel Garwe thanked Belarus for the donation.

“We fully appreciate your assistance. We are looking at health, schools and food aid. Equipment like water pumps will also help in boosting our agricultural environment,” he said.
