NEW: Zimbabwe records zero Covid-19 deaths

Zimbabwe did not record any Covid-19 fatalities on Wednesday, while 140 new infections were reported, official figures show.

The rolling average of new cases fell to 124 from 127 the previous day.

According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care’s daily situation report, the positivity rate stood at 3,8 percent, while the national recovery rate was 96 percent.

As of February 8, a total of 17 were hospitalised after contracting the virus, while 13 had mild symptoms.

There were no Covid-19 patients admitted in intensive care.

A total of 4 302 063 people have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 3 331 549 have been fully immunised.

The country has recorded 230 880 cases of Covid-19 cases since the outbreak of the pandemic.
