Zimbabwe has submitted its tariff offers under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), a Government official has said.

Addressing the recently-ended ZimTrade Exporters Conference in Harare, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Dr Frederick Shava said:

“Zimbabwe has now submitted her tariff offers under the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement and is now awaiting the technical verification by the AfCFTA Secretariat.

“I would like, therefore, to encourage local industries to invest in technology and lean manufacturing to improve competitiveness and boost exports to the international market.”
