Zimbabwean cake artist Mrs Grace Kanengoni has won three top awards at Cake International 2024, the world’s largest cake decorating and baking event.
The event was held in Birmingham, United Kingdom recently.
She secured a silver award in the wedding cake category for her stunning creation that was dedicated to her late parents.
Competing against hundreds of other exceptional entries, her cake captivated the judges with its artistry, vibrant colours and emotional depth.
The four-tier masterpiece’s base was designed as a rustic tree stump, complete with moss, evoking the foundation of life and family.
The bottom tier depicted a serene landscape with flowers and two white doves, representing her parents’ love.

The second tier featured a sky-blue background with clouds and a golden birdcage, evoking a fairy-tale romance.
The third tier introduced a bold, textured grey for a modern touch, while the top tier showcased a delicate pink design with intricate flowers.
A Zimbabwean flag on the side proudly represented the counttry’s rich heritage and culture.
In addition to her silver award, Mrs Kanengoni earned merit awards in the sugar floral display and naked rich fruit cake categories.
This year’s silver award marked her second in the wedding cake category, following her other victory in 2022.
Cake International is a globally renowned platform for cake artists to showcase their creativity and innovation.
With thousands of entries judged by industry experts, the event is the pinnacle of recognition in cake decorating and baking.
