IN a move aimed at supporting initiatives around primary and secondary school education, leading integrated media house Zimpapers has, through its Kwayedza newspaper, launched “Kwayedza Dzidza” which will exclusively publish content for learners.
The paper carries educational content for learners from Early Childhood Development (ECD) up to Advanced Level.
In an interview, Zimpapers public relations and communications manager, Mrs Pauline Matanda said the new publication was necessitated by public demand and expressed optimism that the paper will be useful in assisting learners with their homework.
“We have listened to market demands. The market had been asking for a specialised newspapers focusing on education. As Zimpapers we thought we should start with Shona and that is why we have brought “Kwayedza Dzidza” on board.
“According to the statistics we are getting, children are struggling when it comes to local languages and this paper, which will carry educational content only, will be of great use to them,” she said.
Mrs Matanda called on Government and stakeholders in the education sector, schools, teachers, as well as parents and guardians to support the initiative, saying it will go a long in contributing towards primary and secondary school learners’ needs.
