New ZTA board appointed

TOURISM and Hospitality Industry, Honourable Barbara Rwodzi, has appointed a new board for the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), effective December 31, 2025.
In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, Minister Rwodzi said the newly appointed board brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will play a critical role in strengthening the authority’s strategic direction and oversight.
She noted that the board is expected to enhance destination marketing for Zimbabwe, while improving service delivery across the tourism sector through effective regulatory frameworks and industry-supportive practices.
The board will be chaired by seasoned hotelier, Farai Chimba, with Lizzie Makwezwa serving as deputy chairperson.
Makwezwa is a hospitality executive with over 25 years’ experience, having held leadership roles in leading hotels in Zimbabwe, including internationally branded establishments.
Other board members are Charles Munganasa, Charity Magutorima, Jeffreys Manjengwa, Gamuchirai Mangundu, Millicent Sibongile Mombeshora, Godfrey Pasipanodya, Tarirai Musonza and Napoleon Nyanhi. Minister Rwodzi expressed confidence that the new board will help the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority fulfil its mandate of promoting and regulating the tourism industry, while adding value to tourists and supporting sustainable growth within the sector.
